Last Post

I am officially retiring this blog. Way too many immature folks have hijacked the comments on both sides of the debate. I will leave this blog up as a reminder of what happened and as a place of unmoderated discussion for the "Cracked exiles." Anyone who wishes to participate in "Quit Cracked Day" can continue to do so. I may still post and reply to comments, but this blog will have no more posts. Stay Cracked, my friends!

  1. Do you want me to send Wong a message asking for you to be unbanned?

    1. I guess you could if you want. I actually found an account that I made years ago that they haven't banned, so I'm using that. It doesn't really matter to me. The site doesn't feel the same anymore anyways.

  2. Ryan, don't let it get to you, slow down a bit :) and thanks for creating a space where BOTH SIDES could discuss freely on this matter. My advice (for what is worth) is don't get sucked in meaningless debates and just state the facts.

We know what happened and we are decent, mature people who experienced a (minor) injustice and were baffled and hurt by the way a site we all loved and invested time and dare I say, effort into treated us, escalating some very minor controversy with a disproportionate punishment.

Let this and the other outlets were we vented our frustration be a testament to the kind of people we are (hint: not childfucking lunatics spewing death threats) and a useful resource for who wants to know more about it without having to read a useless flame war.

Be strong and don't fall into their trap.

    1. Thanks. That sums everything up with a nice bow on top.

I feel I did a disservice to myself with the whole "Quit Cracked" thing. In hindsight it was just immature. I just felt powerless and angry and felt I had to do something. But of course, I just have to be a grown-ass man and admit that I can't.

The whole thing was unfortunate, but I've been hearing a lot about how this isn't the first time they've done something like this. This is probably one of the bigger incidents, but I'm sure there's a lot of things we simply don't know about. The fact is, Wong and Cheese are assholes. They always were and always will be. I still respect them as writers (sort of), but Jack needs to hire someone else for this kind of thing. Having someone in an administrative position call virtually everyone not in the forums a "cockroach" is just bad policy and leads to terrible decisions like this.

  3. Don't feel bad about trying to do something, I understand how you feel, and to be honest I am not done yet with this incident. I had 3 accounts banned, so it won't hurt much if they ban a few more...

The thing is, we are too few to start a boycott, but I still believe our voice can be heard by others and challenge the (ridiculous) official line on what has happened.

Well, that, and having less Cheese would be ideal. I'd prefer a more varied, healthier diet.

    1. I honestly don't think Cheese will last long after this. Yeah, he'll put out articles now and then, but I think his reputation is just too tarnished. Even if you had nothing to do with the incident, word has gotten out to the point where everyone has pretty much put two and two together and figured out it equals "asshole." David Wong doesn't seem to think so, but we'll see.

As a last request, anyone who manages to get an account should change their avatar to a cockroach. Several people have already done it, myself included. Just a last reminder as well as a silent form of protest.

  4. Cheese's tweets of 11/29 were inexcusable. I'll never think kindly of him again.

    It's as simple as that.

    1. 11/29/12. That harrowing day you were insulted on someone's twitter account. Never forget.

    2. I really hope you weren't getting snarky there.

    3. If you're talking about the second anon, I'm pretty sure they were. I'm not even American, and yet even I can spot the 9/11 reference a mile away. In context, it's clearly sarcastic.

    4. I love how it takes two people to spot and identify sarcasm.

    5. Oh, I spotted it, all right. You don't really "get" subtlety, do you?
